Christmas Traditions
I love Christmas with all the sparkling lights and the tall Christmas trees, but my favorite part is our traditions. On Christmas Eve we go to my grandma's house and have a huge dinner. A lot of my family comes and it's really fun hanging out with my cousins Steve and Chris (we call him Chrissie). When we get home I put out cookies and milk for Santa. At midnight I go to church with my dad and we get hot chocolate afterwards. Next I go to sleep and wait for Christmas morning. We always wake up early and rush to our presents under the tree. My siblings and I always get really cool things from Santa! Merry Christmas!!!

More About Me
Hi Miss Carroll, I'm Cassandra but I like to be called Cassie. I don't really like gym but I'm really good at math and even better in English. My hobbies are reading and playing video games. I'm one of the few people in this world that read for fun. My favorite book series is Warriors by Erin Hunter. It's about cats that live in a forest and I've read all of them (which is probably more than 40). I hate waiting for the next one to come out. As for video games I'm really good, for a girl. I love walking around in forests which are common from where my family is from, Poland. Most of my family lives there so I'm really happy when we go. I also love to travel and see all the historical sights. I've been to most of Europe (my cousins live in Paris) and more. Well that was more about me, you're doing good so far Miss Carroll.

Thanksgiving Traditions
Hi it's almost Thanksgiving and I always do these cool things. Every year I go to my grandma's house the night before Thanksgiving and I sleep there. The next morning I watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade with her and my grandpa. I love all the colorful floats! Then we make dinner for my whole family. She prepares the turkey while I make cranberry sauce just like they taught me one year in school. When everyone comes I say the prayer and then we eat all the tasty food. My brother never eats it and I always see him give some to the dog. I love Thanksgiving because it's when most of my family can get together and have fun. HAPPY TURKEY DAY!!!

Travel Times
"No I'm not going!" my mother concluded stubbornly.
"Please Mom," I said "I want to go see my friends, family, and even Tobi the dog."
Our argument was just going back and fourth like a game of ping-pong. Finally she said "Okay."
Alright so let me explain everything. We were stuck in Belgium. We could either take a plane straight to Poland [my family's dream vacation] or go home. The problem with going to Poland is that we had to split up. There was only room for my mom and my two siblings on the plane. My dad and I had to take a plane later. My mom had finally agreed to go.
"Goodbye," I said.
She looked back for a moment to say "Bye."
My siblings were waving like crazy while screaming,"See you later!"
As they left I wondered if this was all really worth it. I came to the conclusion that it was. I wanted to feel the soft fur of my puppy Tobi. I wanted to go fishing with my friends. I wanted to do all these things like in the past.Secretly I knew my mom would've gone because she loved Poland for a different reason.
It was just me and my dad in the Belgian airport. We checked the listings for the planes and the next one to Warsaw, the capital of Poland, was in five hours. We wandered around the airport in the meantime. We bought bologna and bread to make sandwhiches and saw the art posted all over the place. Finally the time came and we went to check into the plane. The flight attendent told us there were two more seats. Just enough for the two of us so we hopped on.
In Warsaw we were shocked no more planes were going to my mother and father's hometown.
"What will we do?" I asked.
"The only option is take a train," my dad said.
I was horrified. The train ride would take a long time. However I was determined to see my mom.
The train ride was long just like I expected and it was also boring. The seats were hard and uncomfortable to sit on and we were stuffed in these little cabins with up to six people in them. Atleast the scenery was nice. Later on we were served bagels. I took one noticing I was starving. The bagel had a light amount of butter on it which made it the best meal I've had since we left the Belgian airport.
I was snapped back into reality when I saw people waiting outside the window. The train had come to a stop. We got off and looked for our grandpa who was supposed to pick us up. Where could he be I wondered? At that moment my dad and I heard a familiar voice.
It was my grandpa! He walked up to us and gave us each a hug.
"Hi there," he said and gave me a bag of chips and a soda "It must have been a long trip so I brought you these."
"You have no idea," I smiled.

Are We Proud of America?
From the Rocky Mountains towering high above the sky to the rolling planes flat on the ground as Americans we have a lot to be proud of. What does it mean to be proud of America? It doesn't mean you have to agree with everything the government says. No, it means to love and serve your country in whatever ways you can. As president John F. Kennedy states in one of his most famous quotes "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." He's trying to say that instead of asking for things like money from the government, we should try and help the country by joining the millitary or doing simple things in your community that might even help someone.
Now let's answer the question of why we should be proud of America. I say we should be proud because we have so many things other countries don't. For example our country respects all races and religions. That in fact is why so many immigrants came to America. They wanted a safe place for their children to grow up and wanted to be accepted. Another thing that our country has and some others don't is freedom. We can all vote and have the right to speak up about things we don't agree on. I find it amazing on how many people can't vote because of their skin color, religion, or even something as stupid as gender in other countries. We surely have many things to be proud of.
America stook together from the beginning. In the days of the colonies when we had to fight Mother England against incredible odds we never gave up and eventually won the American Revolution. We still say the Pledge of Allegiance and sing that grand old song about that beloved star spangled banner. For all of the reasons above we should be proud of America!

Halloween
Yay, it's almost Halloween. I love Halloween because you get free candy and also because you can be creative and dress up as whatever you want. My other favorite part is all the awesome movies on. For Halloween I will be a black cat. On Halloween night I'll probably start out going with my friends across the neighborhood to trick or treat, then go to my grandma's town, and finally end up spending time trick or treating with my aunt. Happy Halloween!!!

All About Me
Hello my name is Cassandra but most people just call me Cassie. I love to read and want to be an author one day. I'm not very good at sports but I still play them sometimes. One sport I really like is softball. Some of my hobbies are obviously reading, collecting trading cards, and playing video games. My favorite animals are cats. I wish I could have one but my parents won't let me. I also love to travel and learning about the history of the place I'm visiting. As you can see I'm a very interesting person!
